French manufacturer of plastic parts since 1940
The history of the Cotte family is closely linked to that of the Thiers industrial basin and its valley of factories. And Thiers is cutlery! It was in tableware that the first generation of Cotte made its name, as a subcontractor. The Marcel Cotte company then specialized in injection and cutlery, introducing color. It was then the first to match your cutlery to your dinnerware, which was considered high-end at the time. Marcel Cotte thus experienced the heyday of plastic design. Thermoplastics replaced bakelite (synthetic and thermosetting plastic) everywhere, including in everyday objects, allowing for simplified designs and coloring.
Since then, the Cotte family has managed to preserve and grow the family business. Xavier Cotte, Marcel’s grandson and André’s son, now leads the team that keeps the plastic injection factory running. Passionate about his profession, he has diversified activities and produced parts for clients from diametrically opposed sectors. Tableware is no longer at the core of the business but remains a market of affection for the Cottes.
Creation of the Marcel Cotte cutlery and tableware company. The Bistro model made its reputation.
Creation of Application Plastique Arconsat, specializing in plastic injection.
Acquisition of APA by André Cotte, Marcel’s son. Then merger with Marcel Cotte cutlery. APA then became a supplier for renowned brands such as Habitat, Geneviève Lethu, Ikea…
APA Injection is acquired by the Dasso / Couzon group (tableware and cutlery).
André Cotte repurchases the majority shares of the company. APA ceases its cutlery production, thus respecting a non-compete agreement with Dasso. It then specializes in the manufacture of technical plastic parts.

Over the decades, three generations have diversified activities. Today, Xavier Cotte, the founder’s grandson, leads APA Injection and develops a comprehensive offering: tooling, plastic injection, assembly, UV printing, and a design office.
APA Injection combines historical experience and industrial innovation to meet the most demanding requirements.

An expert team in plastics processing and plastic solutions
APA Injection is a team of 16 passionate and experienced employees. We work primarily with French clients, but also international ones (especially American).
And sometimes, the team self-produces its own items… This was the case in the 2000s with a significant series of phone cases, designed, customized, produced, and marketed by APA Injection. The company has also developed and patented innovative products in the medical and wellness fields. Plastic is everywhere, from the most playful to the most strategic item, such as when supplying armaments and nuclear industries.
Between these two worlds, APA is a major player in robotics and particularly in household appliances. Many everyday objects have at least one plastic part manufactured by the Celles-sur-Durolle factory.
